Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving day
Plymouth colonist were the first inspiration to
Thanksgiving, after the winter of 1620killed almost half their people. They came
to good relationship with their neighboring tribe the Wampanoag, who taught
them how to fish, hunt, and plant. By 1621 they had both collected enough food
to feed the community and gathered up for a three day feast which was known as
the first thanksgiving. In 1777 the continental congress decreed that all 13 of
American colonies would celebrate a day to give thanks.
